What does a Peer Tutor do?
TUTOR RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Be ON TIME to tutoring session/ SIGN IN on clipboard each day
2. Bring LISTENING level book which can be a chapter book that you continue
3. Use “BOOKMARK” (green bookmark with good questions and comments to use with your buddy.
4. Use “PICTURE WALK or BOOK PREVIEW” to introduce the JUST RIGHT book to your buddy
5. Give buddy sticker at end of session/ after 5 sessions buddy can pick from treasure box
TYPICAL PEER TUTORING SESSION:

5-10 minutes: Buddy reads a familiar, EASY level book, one he/she can read independently.

10 minutes: Buddy reads a JUST RIGHT level book with support from tutor

10 minutes: Tutor reads a LISTENING level book as a read aloud
