ABOUT me

In this section I would like to  introduce myself to anyone who I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, and let those of you who I have met know a little more about me as a person and School Counselor at Deer Park Elementary.

I have been a School  Counselor, in Hillsborough County for the past 17 years, 8 of those at I have been at Deer Park. In  fact , I am one of the original faculty members who opened Deer Park in 2006 starting out in  portables next to Citrus Park Elementary while our new building  was being constructed.

The years before becoming  a school counselor I worked   as a 5th grade teacher in New Jersey and then when I moved to Florida I worked as a remedial reading and math teacher at a Catholic Boys School called Mary Help of Christian School. (Which no longer exists). After the birth of my second child I became a stay at home Mom.

I am  the proud parent of three wonderful children and stayed home to raise them for 13 years before going back to work.  My oldest son, Joseph, is a supervisor at a local company and has worked for  that  company in Tampa since graduating UCF in 2006.  My daughter , Lauren, has just become an attorney, after passing the Bar,(the first time!!)  in Sept. of 2013.  She is now working at a  firm in Tampa.  My youngest son, Michael,  graduated from  the University of Colorado in Boulder in May of 2014.  He is now working at Microsoft at their office in Boulder, CO.    I think he will be staying out in Colorado as he loves the  cold weather and the mountains!!

In March of 2013 I got remarried to a wonderful man, Mr. Craig Ayers, who also has two grown children, Skyler and Auroa who I love as my own.  In fact in 2013-2014 three of our 5 children got married themselves.  We now have a beautiful grandaughter who is 3 months old noq.
So many wonderful changes in the past two years I have truly been blessed.
